Caring for your Brintons carpet

Posted on 17th November 2020 at 2:13 pm by vib / Uncategorised

Brintons carpet is the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality woven carpets for both commercial and residential use. These carpets have a way of bringing space to life. They come in a variety of patterns and colours and have a way of creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in your home. From the majestic, fine point, to true velvet and Brinton’s bell twist, and more, you could choose from a wide range of designs and classifications. Once you have found your perfect carpet, the next step would be to care for it. Proper care of your carpet is important in order for it to look best for longer.

Vacuum at regular intervals

All floors get dirty. However, a wool-rich carpet like a Brintons carpet may be able to hide these fine particles due to the nature of its wool fibre. Vacuuming your carpet from time to time will help keep it clean. It would remove dirt and avoid grime from building up. Moreover, when your carpet is new, it might contain short fibres which can be easily removed from the carpet during the first few weeks of vacuuming. However, do not over vacuum your carpet. Once a week should be sufficient to keep it clean.

Consider using barrier mats

Barrier mats can contribute to keeping your carpet clean. You could use small mats or an offcut of your new carpet in kitchen doorways or other areas of your home where there is a hard floor to prevent extra dirt from coming onto your carpet. Another area to consider using a barrier mat is the doorways that access the street. This would stop the outside dirt from entering your house. However, always ensure that these mats are kept clean so that the dirt does not spread to the rest of your home.

Immediately deal with stains

If ever you spill something onto your Brintons carpet, do not panic. The sooner you deal with the stain, the faster you can remove it. Do not rub or over-wet your carpet while trying to remove stains as it could roughen your carpet. Liquid spills can be blotted with a clean white cloth or an absorbent paper towel. Solid residues can be gently removed by scraping with a knife. However, be gentle and try not to push the substance into the carpet pile. If it is a greasy residue, you could treat it with an oil or a grease remover that is sprayed onto an absorbent cloth.

Alternatively, you could also hire a professional cleaning service for larger stains. A carpet that is well maintained can come along a way. It adds beauty to your home and looks good for many years.

Choosing the right wool carpet for your home

Posted on 17th November 2020 at 2:06 pm by vib / Uncategorised

Ever dreaded placing your feet on a cold floor on a cold winter morning? What if there was a nice warm carpet to greet your feet every morning? Wool carpets come with a lot of benefits. They are soft, durable and can add a sophisticated look to your home.

Where do you place a carpet?

You could place a carpet in any part of your home. Some of the most common places you would find a carpet is in the living room area, bedroom, bathroom and even the dining room if you want. Most people avoid having a carpet in the kitchens due to the fear of spillage and stains. However, you can have it wherever you like.

What are the different types of carpet materials?

Some of the common types of carpet materials include nylon, olefin, polyester, acrylic and wool. All these types have their own benefits and use. While most of them are made from other material, wool carpets are the only ones that use natural fibres. So if you are looking for something natural and environment friendly, these carpets would be an ideal choice.

What colour should you choose?

While installing a wool carpet, always make sure that it blends with the other items in your room. These carpets come in different colours and patterns. You could either choose a series of patterns or a single coloured pattern. An advantage of choosing a wool colour is that they do not fade easily. They are able to sustain their original colour for many years. They are also naturally stained resistant and are a great choice for any room.

What size should you choose?

The size of your wool carpet depends on how big or small your room is. It is always best the match the size of the pattern with the scale of your room. Smaller rooms will look better with smaller patterns and repeats, it could help make your room look larger. For a medium-size room, you could opt for stripes. Likewise, a large room could have wider patterns. However, there is no hard and fast rule when it comes to choosing your carpet. The only thing you need to keep in mind that the tone of your carpet is in sync with the tone of your room.

It is no secret that wool carpets are naturally soft and can provide a more comfortable and cosier atmosphere. These carpets are long lasting and low on maintenance. Hence, they are worth the investment.
